Three-Day Insight Meditation Retreat

This retreat is held in the traditional silent retreat form, allowing participants to experience stillness and insight in a supportive environment. The retreat includes sitting and walking meditation, dharma talks and interviews. This three-day retreat offers a precious opportunity for a deepening of inner silence and clear seeing.

The retreat begins in the evening on Friday, July 19 and ends in the afternoon on Monday, July 22, 2019. Participants are expected to attend the entire retreat. All retreatants will have a single room. The retreat fee includes three vegetarian meals per day.

This is a retreat for Downtown Meditation members. If you have questions about your participation, please speak to a Downtown Meditation teacher. All students must have the approval of the retreat teacher.

You must pre-register for the retreat by mailing the registration form and a $100 deposit. Please note you will forfeit your deposit if you cancel your registration after June 14, 2019.

*Please note that the course fee does not include payment to the teacher. The teacher is supported by donation (dana).  Students will be able make a donation to the teacher at the retreat.

In order for Downtown Meditation to cover the costs of retreats and offer scholarships we depend on the generosity of those who are able to contribute to our Retreat Fund. Please indicate when you send your registration if you are able to contribute and how much you can offer.

Garrison Institute is approximately one hour from the city. The center is easily accessible via Metro North, it is a one hour train ride from Grand Central. A shuttle bus will pick up retreatants at the Garrison station.

Peter Doobinin is the founder of Downtown Meditation.  He is a co-founder of New York Insight Meditation Center. He has been teaching the dharma for more than twenty years.
